Littleton & Lakewood Oral Surgeon, Anne Stearns, DDS, MD
“Oral Surgery gives me the opportunity to help patients reach peak oral health to live their best life. This profession is so rewarding, and I am grateful every day to have the chance to help others. When patients are under my care, they can relax knowing that their safety and well-being prior to, during and after their treatment is always my top priority.”
Now residing in Denver, Colo., Dr. Stearns is excited to join Peak OMS and Dental Implant Center as the newest member due to her shared vision of patient-first care.
Dr. Stearns grew up in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and her conviction to become a healthcare professional began early on. She traces her love for the field to watching episodes of the pioneering and gritty medical drama St. Elsewhere and later working as an Oral Surgery assistant when she was in high school.
Dr. Stearns completed her undergraduate studies at Creighton University and received her BS in Health Administration and Policy. Immediately after her graduation, she continued on at the Creighton University School of Dentistry where she received her DDS withy many accolades and spent considerable time in the oral surgery clinic.
Following her graduation from Creighton, Dr. Stearns moved to Atlanta after matching into Emory University’s prestigious Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery program. She completed a 6-year residency that allowed her to obtain both her Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery certificate as well as her Medical Degree. She received extensive and advanced training in all aspects of the specialty including dentoalveolar surgery, implant surgery, bone grafting, trauma, reconstructive surgery, oral pathology, temporomandibular joint surgery, and orthognathic surgery. As part of her MD requirements, Dr. Stearns completed an internship in General Surgery – training in several specialties including surgical critical care, trauma, head and neck surgery, plastic surgery, and pediatric surgery amongst others.
Dr. Stearns completed her residency in 2014 and completed the rigorous, multi-year process of passing her written and oral qualifying exams to obtain board certification in 2016. She moved to Colorado immediately after graduation to once again be closer to her family and enjoy everything our state has to offer. Anne has worked in both the private practice and DSO sectors. It has been her time in the latter that has opened her eyes and made her tremendously excited to return to a traditional private practice.
“When I first met Dr. Noori, we talked about how we care for patients. His credentials speak for themselves, but what really struck me is his focus on patient care. It is evident in his actions and with the office operations. I knew this was the place for me.”
Now back out West and closer to family, Dr. Stearns enjoys spending time in the outdoors, and attending concerts and traveling with her long time partner Tim.
