Littleton, Denver & Lakewood Oral Surgeon, Lauren Hanzlik, DDS

Lucky enough to call herself a true Colorado local, Dr. Hanzlik was born and raised in Fort Collins before earning her B.S. in Integrative Physiology from the University of Colorado, Boulder ( GO BUFFS!). After deciding to pursue a career in dentistry, Dr. Hanzlik moved away from Colorado for the first time in 2010 to attend the nation’s first dental school, the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in Baltimore. While there, she focused on obtaining a well-rounded clinical background in all aspects of dentistry. She also quickly realized four years of east coast weather was enough(!) and returned to Denver to complete a General Practice Residency at the VA Hospital.

Unbeknownst to her at the time, this residency program would instill in her a passion for surgery, leading her to apply for specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and taking her away from Colorado yet again. Her surgical training began with a one-year internship at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City, followed by a four year rigorous hospital residency program at Indiana University in Indianapolis, covering two Level I trauma centers while receiving a full scope training in facial trauma & reconstruction, oral pathology, orthognathic surgery & TMJ, and dentoalveolar surgery & dental implantology. After earning her certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, she then completed the two year arduous process of written and oral examinations to become board certified.

Outside of the office, Dr. Hanzlik spends her time on tennis courts, practicing yoga (especially heated classes!),
attempting to master homemade sourdough bread, and, most importantly, hanging out with her dog, Bella. Dr. Hanzlik is happy to be back home in CO and brings with her previous private practice experience. She looks forward to serving your patients with the same compassionate care, surgical excellence, and team-centric approach you have come to expect from Peak. We proudly remain a fully independent practice without any outside backing or ties and her addition will now allow us to have all 3 of our locations (including our newly renovated Littleton office and newly acquired LoDo office) fully staffed. We very much thank all of you for your patience these last few months. As an entire team, we have nothing but endless gratitude and appreciation for the trust you place in us as it is a privilege we take very seriously. Dr. Hanzlik looks forward to “hitting the pavement” and meeting as many of you as she can over the coming months!
